Accredited Specialist
Only The Best Pass the Test
Lawyers in New South Wales are certified as specialists by the Law Society and are recognized as having an enhanced level of skill. The Law Society of NSW requires each Accredited Specialist solicitor to have:
• at least five years full time practice
• at least three years involvement in work in the specialty area
• to pass rigorous written examinations in the law of the specialty area
• to pass examinations in communication, problem solving and client service
• to complete in each year a minimum of 20 hours of legal education in the specialty and associated areas
The accreditation standards were developed to provide clients with a way to identify experienced lawyers.
